My Green Smoothie Recipe | Good for You & Tastes Like Cake Batter



Have you been listening to the health, talk shows or news lately?  If you answered yes, then you know we should all be having  a green smoothie everyday.

But I bet you there are many of you out there that don’t.  Perhaps you get hung up on the name alone.  For others, it’s the color.

I was there too.  My parents drink Green Smoothies nearly every morning and they would offer them to me and I always refused.  Drinking spinach just couldn’t be good.  Could it???  In addition, their recipe included mangoes which I just don’t like.  Another thing that stopped me was my mom would complain about how long it took her to get out all the ingredients.

Never the less, knowing Green Smoothies are GOOD for you (especially if you include the right stuff) I decided I would try to come up with one.

For my green smoothie recipe, I had several requirements.


  • Had to have Turmeric – check here for all the health benefits.   A couple that caught my attention were cancer and Alzheimers prevention.    I had tried to drink Turmeric Tea, but if you don’t drink it while it’s hot, it get’s sludgy and that just wasn’t for me.  So now instead of Tea, I put Turmeric in my smoothie
  • Include Vegetable Proteins – like Hemp and Chia seed
  • Be able to be put together in under 1 minute (that includes getting all ingredients out and putting them back)
  • Finally – It had to taste REALLY GOOD!

For me, color wasn’t a problem.  After all, my favorite color is green.  However, if you don’t think you can get past the green, what if I told you this Green Smoothie recipe taste like Cake Batter, but it’s good for you.  Think you could get past it then?
