Barbecue Roast in a Crockpot

Don't let that left over bottle of barbecue sauce go to waste. Make a Roast that is unlike others with this simple recipe.
Recipe type: Slow Cooker Recipe
Serves: 8
  • 2 lb English Roast
  • 2 Large Carrots Chopped or ½ to 1 bag baby carrots
  • 5 Potatoes sliced
  • 1 Large Onion (sliced or Diced)
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • ½ cup Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ cup Barbecue Sauce
  • Ground Black Pepper to Taste
  1. Place the Roast in the Crockpot. If it is frozen,simply cook on high for an extra hour
  2. Put the carrots, Potatoes and Onion on top of the meat.
  3. Sprinkle with Spices
  4. Pour the Worcestershire Sauce and Barbecue Sauce on Top
  5. Close Crockpot and cook on low for 6 - 8 hours or 4 hours on high
I have served this meal with both rice and potatoes.  It just depends on what I have in my pantry.  Either way it has always been truly enjoyed by the entire family – even my picky 4 year old.

The total cost of this meal that fed seven was $7.95 which isn’t bad at all for a pot roast meal.

Carrots – $1 (You could easily lower this by using 2 regular carrots)
Onions– 20 cents
Barbecue Sauce – $0 – I think I got this for free, but if I hadn’t I still wouldn’t have counted it in the price because if I hadn’t used it in this recipe, it would have most likely gone to waste
Worcestershire Sauce – 25 cents – I’ve had this bottle so long, I don’t remember the price on it so 25 cents is a guess.
Rice or Potatoes – 50 cents
