Publix BOGO Sale and Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes Crock Pot Recipe

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of RAGÚ® Pasta Sauce. All opinions are entirely my own.

Since moving to Florida several months ago, I’ve really struggled with one thing when it comes to grocery shopping.  That one thing is the fact that stores in Florida DO NOT double coupons like stores in Pennsylvania did.

Fortunately, all is not lost!  That is due to some great sales that the grocery stores in Florida offer.  One of my favorites has got to be the BOGO sales at Publix.   Each week they offer quite a few Buy One Get One sales.  They do change every week so be sure to check out all the Publix BOGO deals here before heading to the store.

BOGO-Ragu-Publix

One that I’m definitely excited about because it makes for a great crock pot recipe is the BOGO sale available at Publix now through Wednesday, October 11th.  It’s RAGÚ® Cheese Creations Classic Alfredo Pasta Sauce (Family Size, 21.5 oz.).  With the sale two 21.5 oz jars will be the price of one.  Remember, that’s the big bottle too.  You can also find it in a 16 oz jar.  The BOGO offer includes all RAGÚ pasta sauces, but to make this recipe I will need RAGÚ Classic Alfredo.

I don’t know about you, but normally when I hear RAGÚ, I think of pasta dishes.  However, the recipe I have for you today is anything but.

Super-Cheesey-Scalloped-Potatoes

I used the RAGÚ Cheese Creations Classic Alfredo Pasta Sauce to make a super simple, delicious Super Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes dish.  I have made Frugal Scalloped Potatoes & Ham for years using cream of mushroom sauce, but replacing it with the RAGÚ Classic Alfredo Pasta Sauce brought the dish to a whole new level of deliciousness.

Makes sense since RAGÚ Cheese Creations is made with real cheese and fresh cream.  My kiddos who had really liked the previous rendition of the meal said they definitely preferred this since it was bursting with cheese flavor.

As mentioned above, this recipe is super simple so it’s great for those busy afternoons.  The most labor intensive part is peeling and slicing your potatoes, but you can use a food processor to make that easier.  Other than that, it’s pretty much a dump recipe where you can just put the ingredients in and then let the crock pot do the work.

Here’s what you will need:

Ragu-Cheesy-Ingredients

Five simple ingredients is all it takes for this delicious dish.

  • 6 large potatoes (peeled and sliced)
  • 1 large onion (diced)
  • 12 oz shredded cheddar cheese
  • 16 oz diced ham (you can also use lunch meat.)
  • 21.5 oz jar RAGÚ Cheese Creations Classic Alfredo Pasta Sauce

The Finished Dish

Since I put my dish together at 1:00 PM and needed to eat a bit before 6 PM, I turned my crock pot on high.  However, if you put the meal together in the morning, just cook on low and you will be good to go.  Here’s the finished product.
